Rejuvenation Without Medicine Seminar at Maniben Nanavati Women’s College
Team conducted a seminar “Rejuvenation without medicine” at renowned Maniben Nanavati Women’s College in Vile Parle Mumbai. A woman plays a pivotal role in her family, and society at large, and their upliftment is the cornerstone for any significant development of society. Our knowledge about human body is poor in spite of significant progress in medical science. We are yet to understand body fully, to understand it’s need and challenges. Our wrong attitudes and choices of food are becoming increasingly dangerous for us. Instead of health the food is creating illness in us. With this objective, DIYA decided to conduct this seminar. If the science of food is well understood by women it will lead to transformation. The seminar was aimed to cultivate healthy habits, prevent disease and reduce risky behaviour without medicines. Through this seminar Shri M Senthil Raja introduced Yugrishi’s concepts and diagnosis of all the ills, weakness and disease and gave practical suggestions for improving health and vigour to attain longevity. He explained that the food we eat should be light, fresh and healthy. He explained how wrong combination of foods is at the root of disease. Nutrition should be our prime focus rather than taste. Shri Senthil stressed on the importance of state of mind in which we eat food. The best of food we have in bad state of mind watching TV or talking on mobile or disturbed state of mind will be poisonous.
Shri Senthil an IIM Kolkatta alumni spoke with the moral authority of someone who is on mission of eradication of lifestyle disorder. An unhealthy diet is one of the leading risk factors for poor health. He explained the human digestive system and food processed in it. He explained the role of insulin. He advised to reduce or avoid sugar and fats by avoiding certain foods, do exercise and walking in addition to medication. The seminar was successful in creating awareness of food we eat and eating habits. It made the participants aware about what they eat, how much they eat, how they eat and its effect on their body. Shri Senthil centred on the scientific theory and aspects of Tea, Coffee, Caffeine, Chocolates, refined oil, polished rice, processed meats.
He explained that how excess of coffee, tea and Rajsvik food leads to lack of concentration, sleeping disorders, anger outbursts and acidity. He stressed that Quality of Food consumed co-relates directly with Human Temperament and Behaviour pattern. To conclude he appealed all women that the most important ingredient of Food is Love. The food must be prepared lovingly, with tenderness and shared with these same sentiments with all.
The module was a hit and very well appreciated by NSS Coordinator Ms Geeta Varun and Principal Dr Rajshree P Trivedi. The team had preliminary discussions on Ashwamedha Yagya. Ms Sangeeta Tiwari, Natubhai were instrumental in organising the workshop
