Ashwamedh Prayaj Deep Yagya at Anushaktinagar
As Prayaj or preparation to forthcoming Ashvamedha Yagya (6 to 11 January 2021 in Mumbai), DIYA Mumbai conducted a mega spiritual & cultural renaissance program *Ashwamedha Deep Yagya* at Atomic Energy School – 4 Hall, Anushaktinagar ( BARC) on 8th December, 2019.
DIYA involved many like – minded organisations in the Ashvamedha Deep Yagya. The program was inaugurated by lighting of lamps amidst the Vedic chants which charged the environment with serenity and piousness.

The first Ashwamedha Kiosk was flag open by Hitesh Joshi, Parshuram Yadavji and all present guests.
What could be a better day to kick start Ashwamedha Yagna Prayaj at Anushaktinagar than Geeta Jayanti and birthday of Shaktiswaroopa Vandniya Jiji. As token of remembrance guests were welcomed by gifting them Yugsahitya “ Dainandin Jeevan Me Geeta” authored by Revered Dr Pranav Pandyaji.
Participants were welcomed the Indian way by greetings in form of Pranam and Tilak. Deep Yagya Kit with Deepaks was given to each participant to participate in Deep Yagya. Pragya Bhajan circle infused life into the program by collectively reciting Gayatri Chalisha.
Adv Vijay Purohit the MOC for the program beautifully explained in detail the relevance and significance of Gayatri Chalisha. He explained how daily recitation sets the preliminary path of Upasana. These forty lines glorify the philosophy of Gayatri. Gayatri Chalisha is an abode in which all the divine virtues reside together. Its recitation fills the sadhak with treasure trove of divine qualities. In simple words, it transforms him with Dev Tatva or divine qualities. Explaining the gist and essence of Gayatri Chalisha he suggested to all participants to listen to Yugrishi’s 1985 discourse on Gayatri Chalisa ki Samuhik Sadhana. The whole experience of collective recitation was soul nourishing.
This was followed by a specially formulated Ashwamedha Promo Song prepared and sung by Pragya Bhajan circle. It highlighted the purity in purpose of organising Ashwamedha Yagya. All of them sang the bhajan and enjoyed singing, listening and reciting it together word by word.
Explaining the purpose and goal of Ashwamedha Yagya, Vijay Purohitbhai took the participants to view and enchanting documentary prepared by himself and Harshul Nayakji specially made on Ashwamedha Yagya. This was followed by another Pragya Song by the team on the theme Ashwamedha Yagya.
Baalutkarsh is a weekly gathering of children every Sunday in Anushaktinagar. In this, children between 5 to 15 years are inspired to live a spiritual life.It helps children bloom, grow and inculcate values through fun filled activities. Seeds of spirituality are sown at very early age by Baalutkarsh team of DIYA in Anushaktinagar. They nurture it with warmth and affection in various forms and ways. Since it was Geeta Jayanti day, a special session was conducted by Baalutkarsh Team. We all know Geeta is Vandniya jijis breath and force of Shraddeya Drji. As token of love and gift to Vandniya Jiji on her birthday Baalutkarsh team children recited the Chapter 4 of Geeta which gives insights on various forms of Yagya explained by Lord Shri Krishna.
DIYA Mumbai team then further shared the in-depth meaning and purpose of conducting Ashwamedha Yagya and how each one of them can participate by joining the Tapa Bank of daily making Gayatri Mantra in their life. This could be done in writing or chanting in Yugrishis voice on online portal made by DIYA Mumbai. Each of them was further requested to give donation in terms of time and resources. Last but not the least one can donate their talents and influence to take this by word of mouth to minimum 24 families in their circle of influence. Special Mantra Ahutis for well-being of Vandniya jiji was given in Deep Yagya conducted by DIYA Meditation team.
Yet again to add inspiration to Deep Yagna, children of Baalutkarsh team recited Gayatri Mantra in Deep Yagya. Notably the chanting was made musical by young children playing tabla. Yagya Mahima Song & Yug Nirman satsankalp was performed by Bal Sanskar children. It was a grand vision of Yugrishis been manifested to see young voices singing the eternal song of the Lord Krishna, singing pious Gayatri Mantra and Yagya Mahima and giving pledge to participants in form of Yugnirman Satsankalp. These Baal Purohits in days to come will conduct the entire Deep Yagya.
Ashwamedha Deep Yagya not only touched the hearts of scientific fraternity but also hearts of numerous children, giving them focus, drive and inspiration to persevere ahead Indian culture and carry forward its legacy.
The rangoli team made a beautiful rangoli with Mashal and deepaks decorated around it. Whether it was hall booking to sound to photography to registration desk to making of bhajans to preparing children, banners or documentary, Book stall or Akhand Jyothi counter to prasad to every dimension of way it was Team Work , Team Work and Team Work ……contributing in even the every way to such a project was wonderful!
Experience, sharing, belongingness, compassion, cooperation touched the hearts of each other and each of them enjoyed the program & it became the occasion of Atmiyta Vistar…and Sangatikaran…the true essence of Yagya. Sangachadwam, Samvadadwam Samvomanamsi was true message experienced at Ashwamedha Deep Yagya. The team plans to carry the same module as Prayaj across Mumbai. Winding up the event the entire Team had delicious sattvic Dinner together celebrating Jijis Birthday together.
